Ok, I’m excited, I hope you are too!
I’ve added a signature component, you can create a signature for your posts . . .
To do it, If so, click on members in upper left corner, then click on your name in member list, the click edit . . and you can fill in your profile and write your signature . .
I don’t want to post rules for this, it should be common sense, direct them to something of value in your world.
It might look like this:
By the way, do you want to learn more about _____
If so, download my ebook here _______
(OR: visit my site here to learn more)
Etc . . .
Be friendly!
Go make your signature!!!

Couldn’t find anything like what you described.
Probably just me. 😉
I did find a place for the forum signature by going to Members, then clicking on my name.
By the way, when I click on my name in the Popular Users column, I get a page that says Nothing Found.

Just finished doing this.
What a cool feature.
Use anchor text to put in a link to your site.
And after you save everything, it will change your signature block on all the posts you’ve done.
That means that if you decide to amend it again later, it will update everything forum-wide.

I made a little tutorial for those who want to add a link to their website in their signature but don’t know how.
The software won’t let me add code here so I’ve put it into a text file. (And yes, I tried coding it out, using ascii equivalents, etc.)
Click below to see how to add your website link to your signature.
This will open in a new tab so you can copy and paste as instructed.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks Norma. This helps a lot. Here’s just another way I discovered the hard way (before I found your post.) Just go to any post as if you were going to reply. In the reply box, type in the text you want for your signature, and in the tab above, click “link” before and after the text you want to be clickable. Then copy and paste that code into your signature box. You can then delete the text from the reply box.
A little awkward, but it works. Let me know if you have any questions.
I’ll be glad to help.

What I meant, Sean, is that I didn’t know if what I said was what I should say.
The signature is a kind of “resource box,” and I just wasn’t sure if what I said in it was good or not.

Thanks, Bob. That sounds way easier! My default is to just type out the code because that’s the way I’m used to doing it.

Thanks and thanks and thanks . . .
It was mentioned to me that red it sometimes hard to see against grey . . .
I will likely be changing the grey too but not yet
the time stamps are ET, can only have one, so hope that zone makes the most sense!
I am hoping EVERYONE will create a signature . . .

I am flummoxed. I saw the field for adding a sig the first day it was announced, but was in the middle of something, so decided to come back to it. Have tried to find it several times since, but no luck. Did I do something to make it disappear, I wonder?

Thanks for the info, Bruce and Norma – but my problem is not in inserting the link – I no longer appear to have the signature box in which to insert it. I did see it the other day – but no longer. Even did a ctl-F to search the page for signature. I have the other profile fields, just not that one.

Dana
when I upgraded one component of the software, I overrode the signature settings . . .
you should now be able to go to your member page, then click on edit, and it’s the second box down
sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully these glitches will become fewer and further between!
