Starting a thread here for your favorite Sean Mize quote of the day.
Here is mine for today:
“Every training you release should change lives.”
I bought Sean’s cyber Monday special and was going through the training as I cleaned the kitchen and heard that.
Not too many internet marketers are going to give you that advice.
Just think on that for a moment. If you start your business with that in mind, creating training where every one changes lives, then what kind of a foundation does that build for the future of your business?
best,
Scott Hogue CChH

I’ll borrow from one of Sean’s earlier posts, but this pretty much encapsulates Sean’s mindset:
“If you change one life, you change the world. If you change one life a week, you dent the world each week.”
In no way do I intend to speak for everyone (or anyone, for that matter), but it seems this is something we all aspire to do.

My Quote For Today
The Sean Mize quote I am thinking of today is “Anyone Can Coach.”
It is more than the title to a book.I read an article earlier this year where that “Primary Skills Coaches” start out at $50-$55k and went up for an annual salary.
What is a Primary Skills Coach? Someone that goes to your child’s daycare and teaches them to tie their shoes.
Yes, we have shoe tying coaches.
They also will teach your child colors and their left from right and I am sure a few other things. If there are shoe tying coaches, isn’t there something you can coach on?
I teach that if you don’t have skills or special knowledge (like how to tie shoes?) that if you have an interest in something that is of value.
My daughter had an interest in the medical field and she turned that into skills and a job as a clinical coordinator with a major medical provider. So if there isn’t something you can coach (come on, can you tie shoes and water plants?) there is some interest you have you can apply and get skills.
What Sean Mize quote is on your mind today?

I remember I’d been following Sean’s emails and he sent one about buying his step-by-step blueprint. He was running a one-day-only type special on it to get it cheaper than usual.
And on the sales page, he said:
“Now, there’s the thing, as an entrepreneur, you must sometimes take risks, take action, decide to lay the rest aside and just make it happen.”That’s what caused me to purchase the program (which was exactly what I needed to get going, by the way).
Sean is really, really good at motivating people who are lost or stuck to get off their arse and just “do”.

I think 'half' is probably low
Great quote but I think that not having a coaching program probably leave a bit more than half of the money on the table…just a guess.

My Sean Mize Quote of the Day
It is my belief that waaaaaay to many internet marketers do the opposite of what Sean’s quote says…
Sean says (and I believe it is totally true “Not only do you not NEED to be everything to everyone . . you shouldn’t be . . .”
If we would actually DO that instead of just read over it or even just believing it and not acting on it we’d be way down the road.
We all need to specialize in something, become good at that one thing and make sure what we offer regarding that one thing is worth what we think we should be making delivering it.

Steve,
That’s a really good point! I think the knee-jerk reaction is to want to be as broad as possible, because you assume (at least, I’ve tended to), “more broad = more sales”.From everything I hear, the opposite is true: the more specific you are, the more targeted of an audience you’ll get who will be interested in what you have to offer.

What May Be The Most Important Thing To Understand About This Business
I am gong to edit a bit and paraphrase just a little since this goes long in the training, but I think Sean will agree I didn’t change his message.
“Regardless of what you may have heard somewhere or some get rich quick program someone sold you, no one is going to just give you money on the internet, that is not a business, No one goes into a hamburger joint and just gives them money. You must have something people want and will buy.”
He goes on to say that people buy things that change their lives. You are hungry and a hamburger will change that, so hungry people will buy hamburgers, it changes their lives. You are thirsty and a bottle of water will change that, so thirsty people will buy bottles of water, it changes their lives.
Of course people can lie and you will just think they have something that changes lives, but that isn’t the basis of long term or repeat business.
I invite Sean to comment if he wishes.

That is what Sean is all about
Very true Scott. Pretty much all the training Sean does boils down in some way to helping people. And the quote you compiled from his training is really true. If you’re not helping people you may make it to some extent but it will be very short lived and you’ll gain a reputation you probably don’t want. Ya gotta help folks.

More of a Sean teaching today than just a quote
Sean says you can price your products too low. There is a training in particular I remember where he basically says you can price your products too low and then does a fair amount of teaching on it, so it isn’t just a ten word quote.
It makes me think of something my grandfather said.
How cheap do you want to buy hamburger?
I was trying to feed my family for the least possible when I was struggling financially and was talking about how much cheaper hot dogs were at one store and that hamburger was on special for a third less.
He said, How cheap do you want to buy hamburger?
I thought about what he asked for a moment and then I got it.
At some point as the price of hamburger goes down you begin to wonder what is in it.
I think the same is true with our products. At some point people begin to wonder as the price goes down, is there anything good in it?
Sean talks about offering higher priced products early on, even if you don’t expect to sell them, to establish your worth.
If you offer only single digit offers or nothing over $97 for example you will be seen as the bargain basement trainer and won’t appeal to the higher end of the market and probably not the middle.
Someone that pays $100, $200, even $500 for a hair cut or style and $2,000 a month on lawn care won’t think your $7 training is worth the trouble.
If you say, this is the same training on the topic that I teach in my $6,000 or $12,000 total training package, then that puts you into another light. You are seen as being someone that is worth it because you charge it, even if you don’t sell any at first and who knows? Someone may ask for it.
Sean says people that buy the higher priced products don’t complain as much, as for refunds as often and if you are selling higher priced products you can pay more for traffic and still be profitable.
So, how cheap do you want to sell your hamburger?
best,
Scott Hogue CChH

Going Viral
Sean says that to go viral you have to first promote something or how else would people find it to begin with?
That the you don’t have to promote it magic viral programs don’t work.
That items that go viral are content of some sort.
That things go viral from sharing.
That people share amazing content.
That when people share your content that is like thanking you for having amazing content.

One Powerful Thing You Can Do To Change Your Business
Sean says, “What if you just recorded one hour of training a week…”
In a year you would have about 50 new trainings you could sell or use for marketing.
I think that not only would you have 50 new products, that by recording something every week there would be a halo effect in every area of your business. Your thinking would change, your focus would change, you would create momentum.
Some version of that is my New Year’s resolution.
I started yesterday answering one question on my website a day. In a year I should have a collection of about 300 answered questions and that should help with search engines, people looking for answers, creating expert status, etc.best,
Scott Hogue CChH

Sean says if your passion is not in a profitable niche, then pursue your passion, but find a profitable niche where other people are passionate and make money in that area to fund your passion.

Today’s Sean Mize quote actually comes from something he said here on the group and goes into more detail with in his training.
“I rarely create product until at least a few folks have enrolled and I like to have a feel for what they are looking for.”
Thomas Edison, the most successful inventor of our modern age would agree with Sean’s method.
Edison would say before he made something, he first determined the demand or appeal of an invention, then determine the market and how to market it, then figure out how to make it and still profit or what the guidelines would be to make something and profit such as the amount the market could pay, the amount of profit desired and the resulting cost supportable to manufacture, market and deliver it, then invent, create and market it.
In others words, don’t make something until you know people will buy it and there will be a profit in creating it.
Sean can send out an email asking what people want in the way of solving a problem, get answers back in a few days that indicate a topic that people want and need, set down and in less than an hour create a 10 x 10 matrix or outline, then using that matrix create an hour training in a one hour phone conference recorded call with a few clients.
For more information you can look at his fast product creation training and the 10 x 10 matrix.

Sean asks, What if for the next 30 days you stopped doing anything that isn’t critical to your business and just focused on those critical things left how would that change your business.
He goes on to say things like you might free up as much as 90% of your time and have tremendous progress.
He says you have to intuitively understand the internet marketing business to be able to do that and stop the step by step method with lots of steps that don’t fit, don’t work for you and if you don’t understand how it really works you won’t know what to do and what to leave off.

Kind of back from the last surgery, at least part time.
Here is your Sean Mize quote of the day!
If people aren’t shooting you a few dollars buying your offers, then you aren’t changing people’s lives.
If you are changing people’s lives, on average they are going to send you some money to keep getting your help.
How does this fit into your business?

For newbies, I remember Sean telling me that it didn’t matter what order I did things in. That I would have to do them all anyway.
But since I was stuck, he told me what to do next.
Sometimes we just need to be given permission to take a step, especially if we don’t know which one to take.

I don’t have the exact wording, but woke up thinking about something I heard Sean say a while back
Go to Amazon and look up the books on your topic when you are making a product.
You can see the table of contents for free.
Take a few books and write down the chapter topics.
Now don’t just copy them word for word, but use them for a guide, juggle it around to fit your training, knowledge and experience and you have a quick outline for your product.
I think we all know the difference in doing research and just copying someone else’s work.

Sean says…Information is getting to the place where it is free on the internet, you can find nearly anything on the internet for free if you look long enough, but transformation is not.
The money is in helping people transform their lives.
