Preneurs Helping Preneurs Get Noticed

  • Should have known it was you Bruce,

I think Quora is a viable platform for building a list. I, personally, have daily emails about different aspects of Word War 2 (a big side interest of mine) And I always make time to read them. It can become quite addictive in fact. So if it interests me, I’m sure that many others feel the same.

    The many and…[Read more]

  • Thanks Bruce,

I guess you just confirmed my fears.

On the whole I tend to agree with you, but even more so with Facebook.

However, I have never heard of Medium, so it intrigues me a little. Maybe it could become a piece of the puzzle I’m missing. But I am surprised that Sean has not (to my knowledge) recommended Medium, especially because of…[Read more]

  • Bruce, a couple of thoughts:

You can create a short survey in Survey Monkey and post a link in your ebook toward the front of the book, in exchange for a cheat sheet, worksheet or video. I’d make it open-ended, but short – 1-2 questions only. Get the flavor of the words they use, and incorporate them in your marketing materials. Remember this…[Read more]

  • You don’t have to advertise to get Likes.

Anyone can search FB for topics and have the relevant posts, etc, listed for them.

I imagine that’s what people do, and then when they see your page, they Like it.

  • Just walking out the door, I will check for your email.

I don’t get the flow. I think I need a flow chart on how facebook works and how things are connected. How do you get 50 likes from India when you aren’t even advertising?

I see things pop up on my page and before I can read them they disappear. What is that about?

    I did advertise for…[Read more]

  • I remember you made some comments on helping people in third world countries. You had some ideas, were working on a few things. I seem to be growing in popularity in India (which I am not sure you could call a third world country anymore, they are becoming more and more advanced, I saw where some areas have more cell phones than people) I don’t…[Read more]

  • I may talk about the weather on my home and personal facebook page, but I always do a quote, suggestion, news bit or outline to a goal on my business facebook page. Sometimes I post to my blog or create an article for my website and then link to it on my facebook page.

I wonder if from the business facebook page they can find my personal page. If…[Read more]

  • I’m reviewing a book that I reread recently.

The book is entitled If, by Mark Batterson.

Here’s a lengthy quote from it.

It’ll stop you in your tracks.

“If you wake up this morning with more health than illness – you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

“If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the…[Read more]

  • You’ve heard the age-old question, Les: Cheap, Quick, Easy. Pick two.

If you want fast results, then they won’t be cheap to get. End of story.

Cheap comes from finding a platform that you can dominate in your niche.

For example, Medium is a place where you can publish content for free. It strikes me as being the new EzineArticles, but it’s a…[Read more]

  • Thanks to everyone for all your input on this question.

After a lot of thought and feedback from this forum, I’ve decided that I can serve people better by helping them to understand why they do what they do and how to change their behavior so that they get the results that they want.

I’ve had a virus for most of January, which has brought this…[Read more]

  • Yes. To answer in general.

There is an old saying that an hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after midnight.

I am inclined to agree with that.

If I should go to bed at 9 pm (the wife away or what not) I usually wake up at 4 or 5 and reasonably refreshed. Unfortunately I may not be home by 9 pm or finished with my work. The wife is a bit…[Read more]

  • Hi Sean,

If it were possible to help 5 people a day, say on Facebook for example, and they became solid, loyal, happy to pay, followers, because I gave them what they really wanted, then I would never stop building my list.

But can this be done without a bankroll of cash?

Can this still be done on a shoestring budget, and not take forever…[Read more]

  • Hi all,

I ask the question, because of all the doom and gloom surrounding frequent algorithm changes these days, and the fact that FB does not show your ads to nearly as many people as previously. Personally I think experts, with a bankroll of money to use to test and test again, can still make it. But Mark Z is pushing for more Social…which…[Read more]

  • I’m with you on the sleep.

I get a better quality of sleep in the eight hours between 9:30 pm and 5:30 am than any other period in the 24.

    Is this your experience, too?

  • Great thread to start Yvonne. Thanks.
What I do for planning is a simple to-do list I built in a Word document that I cut and paste prioritized things to the top. I added a quote at the top that says, “Sloppy Success is Better Than Perfect Mediocrity” to help keep me on track and moving. I add a ‘ONE THING’ line for each day of the week at the…[Read more]

  • One way to find the posts you want to see is to Favorite them. Then in the Members section (I think that’s where it is) you can look at all the posts that you’ve identified as such.

  • Scott you might want to think of your Facebook Page as blog post of sorts.

My WordPress site automatically posts to my FB page and since FB pages are public it starts showing up, first in your fans feed or notifications but it can also show as a “you might also be interested in” selection for people.

The biggest thing I look for is if people…[Read more]

  • Thanks for all the input here.

I did get a lot of good information at genderbrainscience.com/business/

    As a little background;

Most of my offline business’ consisted of mostly male workers, so I was always in the lead.
I’d take some time to get to know how each one “worked” and work with them accordingly.

I was never interested in people…[Read more]

  • I made a post to my business facebook page today and in about two hours I see 13 people reached, one share and one like. I didn’t pay to boost it. Not sure if people reached means people read it or what, but interesting…

    Any comments?

  • I would really like to be able to @ people in a post or reply.

Realizing Sean may want to opt-out 🙂 and not be pinged 100 times a day.

I would love to know when someone replies directly to a comment or thinks something would be relevant to me.

It seems it would make the forum easier to use and more connected.
    I feel like I’m searching for…[Read more]
