Julia Rotgers replied to the topic Building an IM Business is HARD WORK and this rant is about that . . . in the forum Ask Anything 6 years, 9 months ago
Thanks Sean, I think we all need to be reminded sometimes that nothing in life is handed to us.
It’s all to easy to forget how long and hard we worked to master something – after the fact.
You don’t have any idea how many times you fell to the floor before you learned to walk.
Or how about your day job, the school and training it took to get in…[Read more] -

Another way to help you with this is to use a page builder.
There will be a widget for images, and you’ll be able to define the size of the box that the pictures go in so that they’ll be uniform.
Not all page builders are created equal, however. We use SiteOrigin at work. I don’t like it. The tutorials are pretty much a waste of time, too. The…[Read more]

Hi Robert,
There are two things that are missing from your offer.
The first one is why you’re doing it. The best way to understand this in the short term is to look up Simon Sinek on YouTube.
If you can grasp what he says, then after some thought you’ll be able to figure this out. But it won’t be obvious.
I’m writing an ebook about this topic…[Read more]

Hi Les,
I’ve given a lot of public presentations.
The most important thing is preparation.
When you think you have it all together, then stand at a table with your notes in front of you, and present to the wall or the empty room out loud, just as if you’re doing it, all the way through.
Make whatever changes you need to to your notes.
An hour…[Read more]

Yes Sean,
Leave it up I have seen far worse. It let’s people, within the group, see the reality of how much sweat and tears goes into keeping this group alive. I don’t think it will tear up any trees in most member’s heads though. Not that they are bad people it’s just human bloody nature. We are lazy mammals, and I include myself in that.
But…[Read more]

It doesn’t sound like anger to me, Sean.
Leave it up. 🙂

Leslie Leftley replied to the topic What would it take for YOU to get 1000 new subscribers from facebook in 90 days? in the forum Ask Anything 6 years, 9 months ago
Sean,
As raised in another recent thread (by Julia Rotgers), a lot of hard dedicated and targetted work over a period of months would be required. Effort require to get a 1000 subscribers may well have to be similar to the levels of action, you yourself had to take when you submitted all of those many, many ezine articles in the past.
I don’t,…[Read more]

Hey Bruce,
That should give you a break from PreneurPal then…lol..although the input to this group might therefore drop somewhat!
Good luck with the move my friend. It can be a stressful time.

Sean,
I will be making initial preparations for my first official speech, that I will be giving to a Speaking club I have joined. It is only going to be 5 minutes long, but that is a lot longer than it seems when one is stood up in front of a bunch of people who, while very supportive, are also analyzing in order to provide feedback on my effort.…[Read more]

Days like that, Sean, are wonderful.
They’re anchors in the storm of life.
They’re monuments to God’s faithfulness that we can look back to when we’re struggling.

I can see, from re-visiting these posts, how easily I forget what I’ve suggested to other people.
Often, I feel like I’m living in two parallel lives.
There’s the one where I’m doing all the things that I want to do, and then there’s the one where everything changes almost as soon as I get out of bed. LOL
In order to make 80/20 work in the way…[Read more]

Bruce Hoag replied to the topic What are your best habits? in the forum Ask Anything 6 years, 9 months ago
Great insight, Julia.
I like the idea of trying to create more content than I consume.
One thing I’ve noticed is that the more I read, the more I want to write.
This has been particularly frustrating in the day job because there I’m reading constantly, trying to stay up on what’s happening on the Internet, all the while working with no budget,…[Read more]

Getting ready to move in a couple of days.
I don’t have much stuff. Everything will fit into a van, but the main thing is that I won’t have an Internet connection for a couple of weeks.
I’ll have to do everything online in the office (day job).
On the one hand, I’m looking forward to that.
No TV, no Internet, and even the cellphone won’t work…[Read more]

Something that I think most people have missed is that Google, Facebook, YouTube – all platforms, for that matter – have agendas that are different from those of IM-ers or anyone else who is trying to monetize their space.
Perhaps it can be thought of like this: In the UK, they speak of working at “cross-purposes.” It means that people who are…[Read more]

What a great thread. Concerning your quote Sean, I’ve heard it called “clean-slate” thinking and have attended a seminar several past-year’s Decembers where we plan out the upcoming year while leaving the failures of the past behind.
This gives you free reign to map out where you want to go without old limitations.

Great insights from Both Bruce and Sean! There is one thing that probably could be said here for those reading it all… Launching a product at a lower price is better than not having anything out there at all because you’re working on getting it worthy of charging more. Sean is right that it makes a great buyer lead. It also helps eliminate…[Read more]

Like Sean said above, I feel like this is more a choice than a habit – but habits begin with choice so (splitting hairs??)
One of my best habits is to create more content than I consume.
It became all too easy to spend my days reading, attending trainings, watching videos in all-out learning mode.
And because there was not outflow for all the…[Read more]

I think you are in good company, Sean!
As a rule of thumb, if you have not used it in a year you probably don’t need it.
This takes into account seasonal items that only come out once a year.
An exception would be things that you use, but not frequently (BUT you actually use them).
For example, one family I worked with has a sausage…[Read more]
