I’m totally in agreement with Bob. Learning is great BUT the best way to learn is to DO. You will never learn more than when you just start doing it and have to make adjustments.
And Sean is right in the initial training…start building a list. That is one I didn’t do for waaaaaaay to long. Start it right out of the gate.

Great way to build the community. Thank you Sean.

I want to learn what business models work the best for others and why.

I want to meet other people who are working through similar issues as I am in the online world.

I want to collaborate with people who are as willing to help others with their expertise as I am.

I want to have access to Sean’s and other Community members’ critique and ideas for what I have online now and how it should be changed.

I want to grow my business and watch others in the group grow theirs as we all implement what we learn from Sean and each other.

Don is right. Where your squeeze page it does not matter but always remember…one page for one action. If you give people too many options they’ll usually choose no action. You squeeze page should focus totally on an opt-in and have no other options on the page.

Great info from Suzanne. Here’s one more thing to consider. SEO is a pretty hard ‘game’ but links to your website and product are never a bad thing when it comes to ranking you higher so more people find you. When you get reviewed, just make sure it comes with a link to your site and consider what it cost you to ‘give’ them a review copy (only a couple minutes if it is a digital product). The more you get your name out there the more people will find what you have to offer.

    Hi Kristin (& Don),
I am super curious why you decided to use Drip when it is over twice as much as Aweber which most marketers recommend. Is it worth the extra?

Bruce- I tried to ‘remember’ passwords until it got to be overwhelming and I started using RoboForm. I LOVE it and couldn’t live without it now. Just a thought.

My wife died of cancer and being a researcher I found (afterward) what she should have done instead of what we did. I put that in an ebook and built an html site (it was before WordPress) and sold the book for $17. I made my first sale and then promoted it and made some more. Since then I’ve just kept at it and it’s grown.
    Don’t give up… You’ll make it!

    Clair,
If you’re not making any money, something is not set up right or is not set up at all. Figuring out what is wrong and adjusting (or adding) it to your business model will start bringing money in and once that starts, THAT will motivate you.
So…first step is to look at what you have that CAN bring money in and fix what is broken or missing.

Clair- at least we know you’re making good investment decisions by being in this Community. And I am totally in agreement with those above who say the amount of investment is NOT the issue. Having a decent business model that has been proven to work and then focusing on it until it works for you is the key. Waaaaay too many people buy bright shiney objects one after another to the tune of thousands of dollars calling them an investment they NEED to make to succeed. That just is not true. Decide on what you want to do and focus on that until you get good at it. It’s my opinion that affiliate marketing (there are lots of options within ‘affiliate marketing’) is one of the easier and cheaper ways to get started but whatever you do…focus, focus, focus.

Jan- I’m very interested in your offer to Scott regarding how you’d add articles to LinkedIn instead of or added to EzineArticles. I’ve used Ezine very little because every time I try to publish with them they won’t accept my article saying it is duplicate content from a previous article that I wrote when I know it is NOT or they (their auto bots) say content within my article is stated more than once when it is not. They also said that I had more than their allowed amount of links in my article when I had zero links in it and only 2 in my Resource Box. I’ve almost given up on Ezine. So I could either use some pointers on how to get through their automatic responses that aren’t right or with another way to get content into cyberspace to increase visitors to my sites. Thanks.

Congrats Kristen. HUGE accomplishment! Celebrate your victory and THEN move into the promotion. Previous posts have some great recommendations and I agree with them all. Kindle is definitely the place to start and it’ll grow from there. For Kindle there’s a top Kindle publisher that I’ve learned a lot from named Shahine Dehestani. Here’s a quick video he did about Kindle publishing if you’re interested. https://youtu.be/f58hKyhWcxQ

Some great concepts here that I’ll add just one thing to…
You will miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
A huge mistake I made for quite some time online was to not have things out there available for people to buy, whether your own stuff, affiliate offers, or something else.
You can’t make money if you don’t have an online presence that includes Calls to Action.
Start and be consistent and it will pay off.

Don makes a great point. Building content is something lots of people don’t work at or remember. And content is a valuable asset.
Another thing to remember is that on some platforms it shows how many are a part of your ‘group’ unless you turn that off. Be sure if you’re just starting that it doesn’t show the ‘me, myself, and I’ as the only person in the group. Not good for social proof and building trust.

I totally agree with Sean. Guarantees HAVE to be specific for a product. Yes, Clickbank requires a guarantee but if you’re selling on another platform or just through your own site a guarantee may help if people don’t know you but if they do it won’t matter. Once you get known for putting great products together, people won’t NEED a guarantee (except those new to your products). If you look on the refund statistics for both warrior plus and jvzoo you’ll see very quickly who has products that are good. There are some big name marketers who I would never promote anything for because their refund rates (sometimes as big as 10%) say they have great sales page copy but not so good of product once it is delivered. That’s just not something I would want to become known for. I think it’s all about testing as well as building a trusted client base.

Diana, great post/question. We all have self-doubt from time to time and often feel like we are running enthusiastically in the wrong direction. But…I think being part of this Community is a huge step toward answering and changing that. As we move forward we’ll get (hopefully) candid critique of the direction we are running and be able to make better and more informed decisions. I think one of the most important things is to realize that consistency is what it is all about. Sean is a huge encouragement to just keep at it until you succeed. If you get the right input from the Community and make sure you’re running the right direction, then stay running, you’ll make it.

Another thing I’ve heard a few times recently in regards to his is that you can’t climb more than one mountain at a time. That has always been my biggest problem. I try to go so many directions that no one direction gets the effort it deserves. So my new goal is to climb ONE mountain and succeed at it and THEN do the next.

Scott- Everyone always wants a good ROI and we (in Internet Marketing) always tend to forget ‘old school’ stuff like penny shoppers and even business cards. Thanks for the reminder and I think it is something that I need to REALLY put some effort into because ROI from IM stuff is sometimes way lower than tried and true methods…especially if we figured in the time we put into some of the IM efforts and put a dollar amount to what our time is worth. Thanks again.

    Hi Norma,
Great to have you in the Community (Excellent maiden name by the way). We all need inspiration and that’s what it seems like you’re all about! Good for you! I hope to get to know you better over the next weeks and months but I do have one small suggestion for you to start with. Your idea of using our profile page is a great one. Agreed totally. But… If you can somehow get your links (especially on your blog and in your pdf give-a-way documents) to load in a new tab or window it would probably benefit you. When someone clicks on your link and the page changes to that link they still only have one thing of yours to see/do. If it opens in a new tab when they exit that tab they still have your original page open. Just an idea. Looking forward to more interaction.

I’m assuming that the launch, offer or webinar you’re asking about is in the IM niche (maybe shouldn’t assume that) but if it is… just look at some of the big names at muncheye.com to see when the well-known names in the IM niche launch products. They do what they do for a reason. Most of them avoid weekends so weekdays must be better. What Robert Mason says seems to make common sense to me but I’ve learned over the years that what I think doesn’t really matter as much as what ‘the market’ thinks. So what they all say…test and then test again… makes the best sense.
