Suzanne, by “slave labor,” I am referring to all the many people from other countries on Fiverr and other sites who charge just $5 to do a project that takes more than an hour or so to complete. In their country, the U.S. dollar goes a long way, so they’re willing to work at such low “slave” wages. Yes, even though this has become common practice online, I consider this to be slave labor. There are so many people in our own country who are willing to do the exact, same thing, but cannot survive in our country for less than $10 / hour (minimum wage).

I’ve gotten so familiar with Zoom since I’m around so many intuitive healers, but I’ll re-investigate Free Conference Call at your recommendation. Zoom is unlimited and also free if you meet with 2 or less people. It’s also unlimited and free if you meet with 2 or more people, but you’re limited to 40 minutes unless you go pro for $14.99 / month. A great value, but let’s see if Free Conference Call can beat them!

I agree that success is not success when you can’t make time for the people you love and care about. But, as Susan describes, it’s very difficult to be successful when you don’t exactly have your own space and you live with a semi-retired husband. I am a free flowing person when it comes to my time management (yes, my flaw when it comes to business), so it’s difficult for me to set limits with my husband. He doesn’t see me bringing home the bacon quite yet, so he tends to not take the large amount of time that I spend online taking care of business very seriously. At least not yet! If I could finally produce an income, I think then he might begin to take my business activities seriously and see it in our best interest to not constantly interrupt my flow. I love him so much… it is my dream to provide well for the both of us as soon as possible.

Scott, thank you for reminding me that marketing yourself online isn’t the only method there is, even when your business is online. I think we’ve gotten to new phase with the Internet where many of us are realizing the value of former marketing methods that fell by the way side when the Internet took over.

Down the line, I plan to have some sort of membership and, as Sean goes over in his platform class, membership software offers another degree of security at your website. So I like the idea of building a membership into my website now and then waiting to offer a membership to my list as I grow my relationships with them.

Yes, Don, Zoom is definitely a community software, but I notice that a lot of people are quite familiar with it. The host can turn off the camera function if that is preferred, but so many people like being on camera as part of the group.
Personally, I would prefer to disable the camera function as I would not be trying to build community, necessarily… at least not at first. I would want to be the focus of my own training.
Yes, Sean… I think I will try Zoom first to see if it goes okay. I really like so many things about Teleseminar, but I also get quite a lot of those same things with Zoom – plus video. Zoom is also quite a bit cheaper (unlimited and FREE when your group sessions – 2+ participants – are 40 minutes or less, $14.99 / month when your group sessions are over 40 minutes).

Diana, as Sean always says, taking any kind of action is better than not taking any action at all. Susan is so right when she speaks about momentum. Even if all your actions fail miserably, you have still created momentum for yourself and it becomes quite easy to make the changes you need to make in order to become successful – no matter when that happens. Every successful person failed again and again until they finally became successful. That is the only path to success and I just wish more successful people in our society would admit this to the masses so the rest of us wouldn’t feel like such failures. Anyone who has had it easy does not have the skills it takes to be any kind of successful entrepreneur. Are mistakes and failures really mistakes and failures?! Without mistakes and failures, a person could never learn anything, help anyone or be of any kind of value to anyone or anything.

Wow, Scott… I have never heard anyone put it exactly the way that you just did! I quote you:
“…there is a spiritual element to success and a truly happy life. It is through helping others, charity, contribution and giving of ourselves that gives our life meaning and provides our greatest happiness.”
I really needed to hear that! It was by way of my spirituality that I ever survived my most difficult life, but, for some reason, I associate financial gain and success with danger. This is because so many successful people did me so much harm. Deep inside my psyche, I don’t want to be anything like them or have anything to do with them… so I remain in my stubborn defiance by remaining poor.
It is like I am surgically removing that part of a healthy life, altogether… and this is what keeps me broke.
How comforting it is to remember that money can actually be spiritual! Making money through helping and contributing to others is actually a spiritual practice.

Dominic, I have tried creating special folders for certain email, but I have found that I sometimes miss out on opportunities if I don’t also see that email in my inbox. I guess if I’m merely studying a certain marketer’s emails, making a special folder is a good idea. There’s too much in my inbox, that’s for sure!

Oh, so many Internet marketers love me for always buying up their products and, as the result of all my desperation, I have created so much credit card debt for me and my husband. And I still haven’t implemented very much at all! It’s because I’ve been so blocked and stuck when it comes to money that I am so motivated and addicted to buying what I cannot afford.
But now the time has finally come for me to actually make some money. Willie, I am finally taking the steps to get my business officially underway and it is only Sean who has gotten me here. Sean really cares and offers the highest quality training available at the best prices. And, thank goodness, because I would never have been able to dig out of this deep hole without him.

Consistency is definitely something that I need to work on, at least in the way that all of you are talking about it. I tend to “go with the flow,” always allowing myself to follow my intuition and go with my feelings. However, planned consistency has to be the secret to building a rock solid successful business. I want to focus on reaching as many people as possible because I truly care. However, when I was running my pet care business back in the late 1990s, I did make the mistake of trying to be everyone’s bargain at all times. I had worked in pet care for years and offered the best service in the industry in the Los Angeles area, but running my own business was brand-new for me and I felt a little insecure. This attracted a few nasty people who did not recognize the huge value I offered at such a low price. Of course I also acquired a number of most devoted regulars who adored me and my business became very successful… but I don’t think I would try so hard to always be a bargain, today. Always will I offer the most value for the best price (always remembering the little guy because I’ve been there), but never would I automatically offer a lower price than my competition offers for a similar thing.

I know Russell Brunson always talks about doing your webinar LIVE 100+ times before ever automating it. He thinks this is the only way to master your presentation of the webinar to get it into its best form. I think he does have a point. Your webinar will never be the source of true relationship building if you automate it too early.

So, Susan… Zoom didn’t give you the correct appointment times? And, with everything happening in your life, you gave up and never tried it out again? I haven’t yet officially used Zoom, but I’ve been testing it and see how easy it is to set a time for a meeting and then copy an invitation to send it by email. And it’s unlimited and free if you make your meetings 40 minutes or less (only $14.99 / month if your meetings are over 40 minutes). Does anyone else have experience with Zoom? I will update you, Susan, when I finally officially try it out. Remember, you can adjust the settings if they don’t work for you.

Remember – you can target any gender, age group, income and industry, etc. on Facebook! Not that I speak from personal experience… I’ve just watched as people have set up their own FB ads on screen right in front of me. So many people rave about the success of their Facebook ads when they do them right. Some people have built their entire business this way. It’s a wide open opportunity that wasn’t ever available to us before the age of Facebook.

Yes, Facebook Live is great for free training, but my goal is to actually begin charging. One could easily charge for a membership to a Facebook group and do Facebook Lives inside (I sort of do that, already). I still haven’t taken the time to perfect YouTube livestreams, however, but one day I will! I downloaded Wirecast for that purpose.
My Facebook friends loved it whenever I did a Facebook Live, so I definitely think it would generate some new traffic for you. Facebook optimizes all FB Lives, causing so many new people to find you.

That would be so great, Jan! I hope Sean gives you the okay. I don’t feel that I am far enough along in my business to think about newsletters, but maybe you will prove me wrong, Jan. I think keeping it as simple as possible when you’re just starting out is key. But maybe it’s not that difficult? I am also more of a visual learner, Suzanne. During Sean’s trainings, we’re mostly taking in words and concepts which are not visual, but I do like to see a person’s face as they talk to me. However, the power of audio – aside from it’s convenience – is that you do not have all the visuals distracting you away from the message. The voice takes center stage.
It’s true… Zoom is really great for live community building, isn’t?

Yeah, Robert, it’s true that nothing is more convenient than audio. What I like about Zoom is that it allows you to call in if audio is more convenient for you. So, with Zoom, you’re getting BOTH video and audio – both of which you can deliver to your clients as a replay. Nowadays, Zoom seems to be quite convenient and versatile… although delivery is manual, unlike at Teleseminar.
