Ad confusion
I’m missing something: if you’re running ads targeted to local zip codes, why are you getting responses from Africa? I’d be in touch with Facebook Ads quick to report bad clicks.

DEEP
I use a system called The DEEP. It helps keep me on track by aligning my daily tasks (The MAP – “my action plan”) with my weekly/monthly/yearly/life ambitions.
The DEEP is essential to me … since I’m the kind of guy who can forget who he is and where he’s going … then end up somewhere else quite quickly.
Real soon, I’ll get a tutorial prepared and loaded here on PreneurPal so folks can have a look.
Bottom line, though, for weekly planning is that my primary focus is on daily planning and chunks of accomplishments. It’s like the wise man told the monk … here’s how to get to the holy mountain: keep walking in that direction.

Did you want feedback on the landing page copy?

Ouch
That landing page is a bit confusing and weak, Scott. Needs a tune up severely.

Feedback
Kristin … good job.
A couple of observations:
In the table of contents, everything is on one line … but for one line. You have it like this: TIP #5: Keep Watching: Opportunities Come When You Least Expect Them.
Visual appeal would be enhanced if you’d keep that to one line, like the rest. This might do it: TIP #5: Keep Watching: Opportunities Come When Least Expected
One more thing: All red in the body seems too much for me. I’d try keeping the red in the headlines, but using black text in the body.
Wishing you great success!

Microsoft Word
I cuss it. I’ve tried Scrivener. I’ve threatened to use Google Docs exclusively. But I always come back to Word.
If you know of a better word processor, don’t tell me.

Focus
Weekly focus topics would be helpful to keep a thread going. G. Bey’s idea is a good one, perhaps … keep the weekly calls going here.

Great Idea
I’m often in the same boat, Tina … domains I’m tired of holding onto and would love to see put to use.
I’m not into flipping either (unless it’s a developed site already doing well). And auctions have never worked for me … though I’m sure they do for some.
Next time I have one coming up for renewal and decide not to keep it, I’ll do the same. Offer it to the crew.

Invanto
Dana, I own Invanto, but have yet to fire it up. A prolific friend, whose opinion I trust, tried several platforms and is using Invanto now. He says it’s (relatively) simple to set up and powerful. I know nothing about Everlesson.

Get a quality theme package from a safe provider. I use StudioPress.
Definitely keep updates current and use a security plugin. I use Wordfence.
StudioPress themes come with excellent support and training.

Limited time constraint is one of the things I love most about working on my own. I have clients and deadlines, but don’t need to punch a clock to get it done.
There are several actions I take daily that help keep me on track.
– early to rise (before 5, most days)
– Do The DEEP (reminds me of who I am and what I’m doing – includes prayer, meditation, and Bible study
– eat for strength and not for pleasure
– get to the gym or take a walk/jog
– catch time with my family and be present
– keep client work caught up – try to deliver more than I’m paid for
– study to learn – attend live Sean sessions, read, take courses
– spend time weekly with mentors and attend Church services
– always ask … is this crummy time or crucial time?
– don’t forget to go fishing (take a break, have fun, relax)2 users thanked author for this post.

I’m a believer in Kaizen – everything can be improved.
The first thing I notice in this one is layout difficulties … very little color, no graphics, spacing issues, and italics are a horrible way to make your main points.

It’s a tough call, Sean. I belong to a writers group that’s so jampacked with messages that navigation is frustrating. People who have time to socialize for hours love it. Working writers aren’t as thrilled about the organization.
In the end, you have people who don’t do the work advising others who don’t do the work and little is gained. I often get requests from people who want me to help edit their work or create a landing page (for free). I try to pitch in where I can, but I can’t leave paying customers waiting for long or I’ve become a charity, not a business.
For me, the primary missing element in all forums (even Facebook) is getting away from the linear messaging display. Smart navigation with an excellent search function could help. As could separate pages/areas for the various topics. In the end, those with real ability will engage with the hope of picking up clients … and that can turn its own nightmare — online ambulance chasers.
Maybe a better way to go is a weekly focus topic where all pitch in. One essential ingredient must be there, though … guidance by the master or an appointed moderator with credibility.

Most of the time, Bruce, ghostwriters don’t get to choose the topic. They are hired for a specific job by someone who wants a specific article written for a specific purpose.
If you want to be the next Cialdini and write your own stuff … focus on psychohacks.
If you want to build a business as a ghostwriter, focus on getting your name known as a writer who can handle several angles and genres.

The more you call out your perfect customer, the more valuable your offer appears. After all, it’s NOT for everybody.
In today’s environment, I’d be really careful about not getting sued for discrimination. There are kumquats in this world who seek out ways to be offended, then try to parlay their offense into cash.

Even if you initiate contact via a direct approach, Bruce, you still want a list of those efforts. You don’t have to email them daily, or even monthly, but it’s sure handy to have that Rolodex of contacts … that’s still a list.
To your question, attending events is an excellent way to meet prospects. For a writer, guest blogging is powerful. Anything you do to initiate conversation and build your brand is valuable.

It needs to be a separate page devoted entirely to collecting opt-ins, Willie. Where really doesn’t matter … as long as the page loads quickly and sticks to the one focus: opt-ins. It should offer no other links whatsoever (in my opinion).

Steve, Drip is owned by LeadPages. It offers a robust setup for workflows. It provides power similar to Infusionsoft … but for less money and with less confusion. I like the team they’ve put together and the product. Educational support is incredible there. Drip is growing. Aweber is trying to hang on (last I checked).

I want to learn more about topics related to creating and selling products online.
I want to meet folks who I can partner with down the road.
I want to collaborate with those who have expertise above mine or in areas I’m lousy at (example: design).
I want to have access to Sean’s input on my ideas and decisions.
I want to pick a personal project and focus on it for at least six months.

Scott … getting published on a blog: Find popular sites that accept guest posts, come up with an idea in your niche that fits the focus of the site, pitch your idea to the editor. That’s a way watered down synopsis, but those are the steps.

– grateful for this group and Sean’s hard work on our behalf
– for a loving Father
– for the perfect wife 🙂

– for the ability to work from home
– for my clients and their trust in me
– for living in Oregon, USA
– for shelter and food
– for my health
– for a vibrant Church family -

I find that my ideas take form when they’re shared, Bruce. I hope to better clarify my own work by getting thoughts outside of my head and down on this digital paper. PLUS … I learn from the experience of others.

Leslie, it’s not about segregating… it’s about agreeing to let someone else in on what’s actually going on with your business. Not everyone cares to know. Accountability can be powerful. I’ve seen guys stop smoking via the approach.
