If you are looking to have recurring payments and they automatically get folks to their product, you need some kind of shopping cart.
I use a number of companies for different products.
Some of the membership software companies have easy stripe and paypal integration . . . memberpress is really easy to use.
this is a pretty comprehensive list (ignore the date, the list hasn’t changed much for this year):
Or look into braintree or even samcart . . .
all of those solutions should be in the $20 a month, range though . . and some of the ones I use are in the $100 – $300 a month range!

when folks are investing $5k or $15k, you don’t need to make it so easy that all they have to do is click the button to buy so they make an impulse purchase.
They AREN’T making an impulse purchase at that price point . . .
And rarely is someone going to just click a button for $15k if the most they’ve bought from you is $97 and they aren’t talking with you on the phone.
And if you are on the phone, you ask them if they need to spread it out over a few payment methods, then send an invoice (it can be paypal) for each amount.
And yes, if all you sell is $7 products and you have $15k purchase, it is going to trigger an alert at paypal.
You have to build trust and credibility by selling volume over time, and increase prices over time.
So many forks and options to this . . .
if I had more info on exactly what you are trying to do (and that is not a $15k mastermind because frankly speaking you probably aren’t ready for that yet)
then I could offer other options for how to make it happen.

And that gets us back to obsession . . .
if you are not obsessed, it’s hard to overdeliver!
When you are obsessed . . .overdelivery comes naturally.

So one thing that’s important when thinking about the cost to mail your list from a certain companies’ servers is how many of your emails actually get through to the inbox?
Some companies do a better job of it than others . .
so for example, if one company charges $50 a month for 1000 subscribers but only 300 of them get your emails . .
and another company charges $100 a month for 1000 subscribers but 900 of them get your emails . . which is a better deal?

I started in 2006
wrote a time management ebook and had the guts to believe I could sell it and make a living!
I sold maybe 300 units at $16.95 and quickly realized I couldn’t live on it – but was hooked after my first sale!
(I actually had been hooked by selling in magazines and classified ads when I was maybe 17, but never could pull it off. Sold diet pills in college by running ads in the thrifty nickel then making home deliveries).
So for me, the internet was a natural progression . . the only difference is the “ads” were online . . and of course I found “ads” in the form of ezinearticles: Ezinearticles Sean Mize
So I figured out how to do it and . . .scaled and scaled . . .got to as many as 1000 articles a month for a few months (those were expensive months).
Now here’s a food for thought . . what is a current medium that can be exploited like ezinearticles?
Quora (look for me there, dabbling)
Client Cynthia Leighton has been pushing it over there as well.
Is it finding people with big followings on instagram and youtube and buying a shout out to their lists?
Or is it something new that is just coming online . . . where you can participate and advertise?

Folks, I want to weigh in here . . I love the avid discussion in this thread!
I would agree that there’s many different ways folks interact and engage . . and some may be more vocal than others, or more prolific.
And I would also suggest that my experience says that sometimes the turtles win over the hares . . .
so if you feel daunted by some of the more prolific posters here . . . stay the course!
Focus on your own growth, and attempt to help 5 people a day . . .
there WILL be a spreading spoke-like effect that happens . . .
and EVERYONE can help and contribute!!

one idea to add:
when you can’t actively promote . . . .
you can make sure that if someone googles you, they can get to you fast
and often you can make course material or links available using your site (correct me if I’m wrong and can’t do that at Udemy)
so that gets folks to your site . .
and of course then you have a widget or popup on that page that offers folks a freebie 🙂

it’s not all about the money
when we change lives FIRST – then do the right money things, the money will follow.
What would happen if each day you asked yourself, what can I do today to change one person’s life?
And if you touched one person per day, would that be motivating?

I go back to my “reason why”
Why I do what I do . . how I can impact people, how I have a change to share things, to say things, to teach things, that change lives.
Why I do what I do . . I couldn’t have the lifestyle freedom I do without it.
It doesn’t mean I don’t always work 40 hours but I don’t have to do them 9-5, sometimes after 9 at night, sometimes before 5 in the AM )
time freedom is huge for me
And when I get discouraged, I can look at my reason why . .
I can look here and see people who are meeting each other . . .
I can look through my file with emails I’ve put in when someone tells me I helped them . .

I applaud you . . .commitment is a big thing, and sometimes it’s easy online to NOT commit . . the online doesn’t feel real . . it’s like a bunch of electrons, people we don’t see . .

thoughts on knowing if you are on the right path
Sometimes I think you just know that you are on the right path
Sometimes if you are doubting that you are on the right path . . maybe that’s a sign.
Or maybe it means you have to dig deep and find out.
Sometimes folks spend so much time going through the motions, while something in the back of their head is asking, am I on the right path?
Maybe instead of going through the motions, you step back and figure it out . . what is my path?
Of course, there’s always the other side . . sometimes you ARE on the right path, but as humans we tend to always be looking for greener grass, we tend to always be a bit unsatisfied with what we have RIGHT NOW . . .
So sometimes I think it’s about being on the right JOURNEY
but some of the paths inside the journey are useful, some are useless, some are training . . .
So sometimes the path we are on inside the journey . . . may need tweaking
but maybe our journey is what it is . . .
maybe what’s most important is simply living the journey . . .
and impacting others along the way
(life is a journey and maybe our purpose is to learn to love others????)

That first sale is what hooked me!
I had an idea, wrote an ebook, had a site built and waited . . .
and once that first sale came in – while I was sleeping if my memory serves me right . . .
for $15.95 I was hooked.
This is what went through my mind:
Ok, I just made $15.95 while I was sleeping.
WOw!
I don’t know anyone who does that.
This is cool.
How many more $15.95s can I make while sleeping?
How many people are in the world?
WOw!
Wow!
Wow!
I totally forgot about the 2 months of 50 hour weeks to write the book and get everything going . . .
but I realized that for any set amount of time I spent CREATING something
as long as people wanted it
I could sell limitlessly while I sleep!
That first sale changed my life!

I agree with both Malik and Bob . . .
IM is not a laptop lifestyle when in the building phase (although once something is built you may be able to take 3-6 months mostly off until it’s time to build again).
For example, for much of this year I’ve worked in the 10-20 hours a week range.
Launching this site though has pushed that to 40+
Once everything is running smoothly and attention is focused on bringing new clients in as opposed to building it out, I likely go back to 20ish hours a week . .
And Bob mentions that stress is a mindset – and I agree.
Just because IM is hard work doesn’t mean it has to be stressful . . .
You can work hard and have fun too (I do)

My personal experience is that a “course” as a giveaway gets a lower optin rate, but a higher buyer rate.
A download gets higher optin rate, but slightly lower buyer rate.
Not enough difference either way to make the decision . . .
I do like a time-delivered course though for keeping folks opening a series of emails (possibly labeled Lesson 1, Lesson 2, and so on )
The KEY is that each lesson much be good enough for people to WANT tomorrow’s lesson so that they will open tomorrow’s email.
Remember – today’s email open rate is influenced by the greatness of yesterday’s email itself 🙂

some form of content creation: article, blog post, recording, video, email, etc (or one thing as all 5)
write an email to my subscribers giving them daily encouragement

Malik, you have hit the nail on the head here.
And KNOWING what your numbers are – all the way out, the way you illustrated – is far more important than hoping for a certain result in the future.
When you KNOW what your numbers are, you aren’t guessing at what you can invest in traffic or subscribers or even product creation . . you know (within some margin of error.)
And that gives you a competitive advantage against someone who is just guessing 🙂

I agree, 3 steps is not too long . . the thing is, if someone hasn’t had a chance to get to know you a bit anyhow, conversion is hard, so nothing wrong with a few hoops!
Of course, the idea is to get them onto your list so you can nurture them with nurturing emails and build rapport and trust . . .

I like the concept, and I personally LIKE well-linked sites like that where folks can find information quickly.
Personally, I’m curious about your 3 steps to wealth method, and because of our conversations in the past about it, clicked on it to see what’s there 🙂
And of course, the key to your website or any other is that it must determine what need it solves, then relentlessly attempt to solve it.
The form is less of a user comfort thing or a personal thing, the most important thing is instituting a flow that leads folks to become engaged, stay on your site as long as possible, and most importantly, be engaged in solving their problem during that time.

Folks, just reading this post, I missed it first time around . . .
I too am really excited about how unselfserving folks are here and how giving everyone has chosen to be.
That’s the big dream . . . to have a place like this that truly meets the needs that so many other places have tried, but the biggest challenge for them is keeping quality high, and keeping folks true to the vision.
I’m so excited that folks ARE staying true to the vision, and within the next few days I’m adding new components (yes, multiple components) to make it even easier to stay true to the vision . .
And of course, the reward for members is BIG:
1) They get to share and learn and BE A PART
2) They get to feature their business in EVERY post, comment, reply, etc – by having a signature that promotes themselves.Thanks everyone!

This is a great thread . . perhaps one of the strongest here, and interestingly enough, contains 3 of the most prolific folks here . . .
I believe a newbie must study the market to see what kind of business they want to start, and recognize that fly-by-night business models don’t work and never will.
Once they’ve recognized that, Tina’s wisdom goes:
I believe you must start by first defining your business. This has several components and without this you don’t have a focus and tend to go round and round in circles
- Define Your Business
- Recognize Your Brand / Vision & Share It
- Know Yourself, Your Strengths & Weaknesses And Making Them Work For You
- Find a Connection with your Audience and solve their problems
I think there are several things you need to do before you start so here is my summary.

Then they can follow the basic steps:
1. Create squeeze page
2. Start writing a daily email and daily blog post

I can’t even count how many sales letters and various pieces of copy I’ve written and never used . . . a veritable gold mine on my harddrive of copy I’ve written and it didn’t feel write. Rewrote it from scratch the next day . . . but the old copy still sits there.
And sometimes the more you do, the more you write, the better you get 🙂

This is why I like Beaver Builder: because it’s really, really easy to create any page you want in minutes, on the fly. You don’t have to hunt for a theme that does exactly what you have in mind . . . you can do it yourself in minutes.

You can literally create ANY page design you want, 100% customizable . . . that’s the key reason I use it . .because if I see something, or get an idea to do something, I can make ANY custom configuration on any page on my site . . in minutes.
So you can make the reverse squeeze page look EXACTLY like the one you’ve seen . . without specialized squeeze page software, so you can use it for any other page too . .
