Thanks for sharing, Yvonne. There’s a lot to think about in that one sentence!
I am creating a hopeful ending for 2017 that will bode well for a better 2018.
This past year held some discouraging moments due to the eye troubles I experienced.
Next year, I will be healthier, more productive, and more successful.
May all your endings be better than your beginnings! 🙂

Private Messages
Here’s another great reason to remember to look at your own profile page from time to time:
Your profile page is where you’ll receive notification that someone has sent you a private message.
I just checked mine and saw that there were messages from 5 days ago! Sorry friends for not getting back to you!
So, make sure that your profile is up to date and do check in to see if you have any messages or friend requests waiting for your response.

I always find that the start of a new year energizes me, so I do take time to plan and review my goals for the new year.
I think it’s the presence of my family and friends at Christmas that gives me the support and inspiration I need to face the new year with hope and confidence.
That said, I do best when I revisit my goals regularly and readjust as needed.
As for 2018? Still finalizing my goals… I’ll get back to you! 🙂

Always PDF. I get frustrated consuming video or webinars because I find them too slow.
But it is great to offer a variety of things to attract those who have different learning styles.
I respect that some people prefer video, and that audio is great because you can consume it while washing dishes, etc.

Bruce, I wish I had a great answer for this one! I lost a lot of ground since I tore my retinas last year. It feels like it will take forever to gain back the momentum I had then. So frustrating!

Shopping Carts
I’ve had some experience with a few different shopping carts and can answer questions about:
Ecwid (aff. link), which is a cart that allows buyers to add hard copies and/or downloadable items to their cart. You build your shop at Ecwid and put it on your site(s) with a bit of code. There is a free option and monthly fee, depending upon how many products your have. I use it at Nallenart.
Ejunkie works well, but it’s been a few years since I used it.
I’ve also used WooCommerce for WordPress – easy and free, but you need to buy addons to integrate autoresponders, etc.
I’ve had some success selling products through JVZoo as a product creator and as an affiliate, but haven’t really used Clickbank.
I just bought ThriveCart (one time fee), which does a great job on sales funnels, does recurring billing by integrating with membership sites, works with autoresponders, and has a built in affiliate program for your products. I am gradually switching everything over to ThriveCart. It doesn’t allow buyers to add multiple items to a shopping cart, though.
I second Sean’s recommendation about Chris Lema. His membership site review is awesome! He really covers everything and is very knowledgeable.

Focus!
I learned from going through Sean’s training here that I am too scattered. I’m still trying to do too many things at once and this is why I’m making slow progress. I need to gain some focus and put certain projects on the back burner.
This is tough to do because they’re all my babies and I’m already invested in them.

Hi Scott,
Praying for a speedy recovery and the best possible outcome for your surgery. Just be patient! It can take months to fully recover from eye surgery, depending on what they had to do to you.
Don’t rush getting back to the computer/phone/tablet screens. Not that we don’t enjoy hearing from you, but make sure you give yourself time to recover.

Hi Diana,
You can change the size of your images right in the WordPress editor.
Just use the text editor instead of the visual editor. (Try not to let all that code intimidate you!) Each image has a tag around it that indicates its size, location, etc. The size part will look like this: width=”xxx” height=”xxx”
If you want all your images “medium sized.” Just change the width attribute to width=”300″ (or whatever looks good) and eliminate the height attribute altogether. WordPress will automatically change the height proportionately.
So, this… width=”xxx” height=”xxx”
becomes width=”300″
Or whatever number you choose. If you have already selected “medium” images, you can’t make them bigger without losing clarity. Just go back and choose the big images and use the code to make them smaller.
Preview your page as you go to ensure your sizes look good.
If you mess up and your pages look crazy, the top right box of your editor has a Revisions option that lets you go back to a previous version of your page. You can’t kill your site in the Post/Page editor.
If you can get past the idea of looking at all that code, this is the easiest way to get your images exactly the right size.
You can do it!

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Oh, dear. Where do I start?
Sean, you asked and you’re getting my honest opinion.
- The Good is that there is a ton of useful information.
- The Bad is that the overall impression from the page is that it’s crowded, chaotic, and hard to understand.
- The Ugly – please refer to the Bad.
I am hopeful, though. My observation is that the site is becoming more aesthetically pleasing as new features are being added.
This has resulted in easier navigation and a better end user experience. If we could just organize that
Core Access Page… it would be an improvement from my point of view. There are far too many columns. Also, the training content and forum links should be separated and more clearly identified.
Sean, I do appreciate all you do! 🙂

People do have a hard time supporting things they don’t understand. They do understand money, so the faster you can start being profitable the better!
That’s why Sean’s theme of keeping things simple can really pay off – with, hopefully, a shorter time to profitability.

Just a quick observation. Your article links send people away from your website. I recommend placing the entire article on your new site so that you don’t lose people. Then put a link at the end of the article to something that will make YOU money, such as your own product or an affiliate link.

Finding Your Voice
Finding your online voice is so important. Then I first started writing, I wrote everything as if it were an undergrad assignment.
It took me years to feel comfortable with writing in a more natural, conversational style. (Contractions!! Short sentences!! Oh, my!!)
I try to imagine that I’m writing a letter to a good friend. It helps me get the right perspective for blog posts and emails.

Bruce,
WordPress automatically creates and stores different sized files when you upload your images. That’s why you have the option for different sizes when you import your image into your post (full size, thumbnail, medium).
I’m not sure if it stores the resized image when you use code or if it just resizes “on the fly” as the images load.
I would guess the latter, because I think this is the same process it uses to resize featured images on posts and pages. I’d need to dig to find out for sure, though.
Either way, if it’s smaller, it’s smaller, in terms of bandwidth. That’s how I understand it.

Hi Bruce. I’m not familiar with any particular teaching on mental toughness.
My approach is closer to behaviour modification. Action is what brings results, so cultivating good habits, even in little things, can give us the boost/reward we need to accomplish the things that are capable of making a bigger impact on our lives, like increasing our income.
The mental game is everything when it comes to being successful, but we can’t “think” ourselves into the right attitude. If we could, we’d already be where we want to be.
It’s not just mental, but “incremental.” (See what I did there? – Heehee!)
Winning each day, step by step. Doing those things that lead to success.
Not just thought but action. One good habit at a time. One day at a time.
That’s how my planner is designed to work. And why I have those encouraging emails in my autoresponder.

What are they doing, Scott? I’ve had five eye surgeries in the past year and a half after both my retinas tore. The last one was a vitrectomy and retinal membrane peel to remove the scar tissue from the back of my eye. It’s still tough to read and remains to be seen what kind of improvement I’ll see from the surgery. Not the nicest thing to have to go through.
